Shrimp Louis Salad

I used to work at a seafood restaurant that made this Shrimp Louis Salad that was to die for! I was really craving one last night but didn't feel like spending 20 dollars on a salad that cost me 6 dollars for 2 huge salads. I was pretty impressed by this recipe.

Shrimp Louis Salad

  • 2 lemons, cut in half crosswise
  • 2 eggs, hard-cooked
  • One tomato quartered
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 3/4 lb raw shrimp, (shelled and de-vained)
  • 3 drops Tabasco sauce
  • salt
  • 1/2 c mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp onions, grated (or onion powder)
  • pepper
  • lettuce leaves chopped
  • 1 avocado
Cook thawed shrimp in boiling water with salt and lime juice for 2-3 minutes until white.
Chill shrimp in fridge.
Make dressing:
Mix mayo, chili sauce, milk, Worcestershire sauce, onion, Tabasco and salt and pepper until blended and chill.
Arrange salad lettuce first, tomatoes on top with sliced egg and avocado, I also grated some carrot to put on the salad.
Add shrimp to the top and dip in the dressing or add dressing to the top.
