By Request: pf changs mongolian beef

After I made the lettuce wraps from PF Changs... I had a few requests for this mongolian beef recipe. Honestly, I have never ordered this before, because I always order lettuce wraps and orange chicken. So, I thought I would give it a go. It was awesome... one of my new favorite recipes, AND, I had everything the recipe called for... SCORE! On a side note, I get my flank steak from Winco. It is a great price and really good quality meat. I used to get it from Costco, which is a little more expensive, but not much. PF Changs Mongolian Beef 2 tbsp Vegetable oil 1 tsp Ginger, minced 2 tbsp Garlic, chopped 1/2 cup Soy sauce 1 cup Dark brown sugar 1 cup Vegetable oil 1 lb Flank steak 1/4 cup Cornstarch 3 Green onions sliced Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in skillet over medium high heat until hot. Add ginger and garlic and let sizzle for 30 seconds, then quickly add soy sauce. Gradually add the brown sugar and let it dissolve while frequently stirring. Let the sauce co...

Black bean brownies with avocado frosting

Mmmmm... Try it they really are good! 1 can black beans drained and rinsed 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 15-20 drops stevia 1/4 cup honey 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 cup oatmeal 1/4 cup oil ( I used coconut) Place everything in a food processor until mixed. Put in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes at 350. Cool before frosting and store in fridge. Frosting 1 avocado 1/4 cup honey 1 tsp salt 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder Squeeze of lemon juice More sweetener if desired (10-15 drops stevia) Mix all ingredients in food processor until blended and spread on brownies.

strawberry freezer jam

Strawberries were 75 cents a piece last week. I was all out of jelly, so one thing led to another... This recipe is super easy and it turns out great... no extra trips to the store for pectin necessary. Freezer Jam 4 cups strawberries hulled and cut in fourths 2 cups sugar 2 tbsp lemon juice Put strawberries and sugar in pan and cook them stirring often until they reach a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and simmer until reduced in half. The longer you cook the strawberries the thicker your jam. When finished thickening , add in lemon juice to the mix.
